Accurate tracking

Well, after boing disapointed with the first one anf vowing never to purchase a MSM device again...I borrowed a Nomad in April and can honestly say that its a vast improvement over the original.

The laster pointer I got sent still had issues even tho I tried to calibrate it but I was sent out another one within a couple of weeks.

You don't need a polar scope, the laser is accurate enough.

In addition to the ball head I'd recommend the wedge and a V plate. That's reallt all you need.

A couple of improments could include having the arca plate mountable in both directions and possibly including a larger gap on the arca bracket at the bottom for anyone using a Gitzo...if you use Gitzo and arca plates not designed for Gitzo then you know the frustration.

Otherwise a nicer product than the original.

Muy conforme

Me encantó mi compra. Excelente comunicación con la tienda.
Las estrellas son puntuales.
Como en el hemisferio sur no tenemos la suerte de tener una estrella polar sería muy bueno que vendan un adaptador para el Polemaster o algún otro buscador electrónico.

Nomad With Muscle

Loving the MSM Nomad so far! Super compact and perfect for hiking to dark sites here in NZ. I reused the mobile holder from my older MSM tracker, and it still works great for fast polar alignment in the Southern Hemisphere — locked onto Sigma Octantis without a fuss.

The upgraded motors are solid — they easily handle my Sigma 14mm f/1.4 DG DN Art, which is no lightweight. Tracking is smooth with wide-field lenses up to 85mm.

Not made for deep-sky or heavy setups, but for Milky Way, aurora, and clean nightscapes, it’s a little powerhouse. Quick setup, travel-friendly, and reliable under Southern skies.

Just amazing!

The best thing about it is the simplicity, not a bunch of buttons nothing. A lightweight block of metal that just does the job. Takes my Sl2s and a sigma 14-24 2.8 no problem.
Aligning is very easy with the laser, I’m much more willing to move to get different angles if I need to.
Highly recommended!!

Good right out of the box

Finally had a chance to use my new Nomad and it was so much fun! Easy to use right out of the box and I got some great results my first night using it. Looking forward to using the Nomad a lot more this summer.

Nomad MSM – Small Tracker, Big Results

The Nomad MSM is an incredibly compact and lightweight star tracker, perfect for wide-field astrophotography and Milky Way shots. Setup is fast and easy, especially with the laser or polar scope. Despite its size, tracking accuracy is impressive — I’ve captured sharp 2-3 minute exposures at focal lengths up to 85mm.

It’s USB rechargeable, travel-friendly, and ideal for both beginners and experienced users looking for a portable solution. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to keep things light without sacrificing results.
