Very happy with this product
I have used many times
Very good quality
I love this. It’s stable I like the release so I can adjust level with the MSM rotating.
I happened to stumble across this product while looking for something else on your website. I love the “V” bracket. I always keep it attached to my MSM. Now I want to get the “Y” bracket. Bracket is well built. I did have a shipping problem, which MSM quickly corrected. Great product!
I ordered the two heads to be used with the MSM rotator in order to ensure better (and safer) mounting for astrophotography.
However once I got them in hand I found uses that I had not thought before. Low level photography? Check. Macro photography with and without a tripod? Check. Mount the camera underneath a tripod but turn it up side down? Check. Change between horizontal and vertical orientation? Check.
The quality is excellent and I never had a worry mounding my camera in any position. I do expect a long life out of them but certainly I am having lot of uses anyway.
A fine and very stable tool. Allows an almost limitless positioning of the camera on the MSM rotator. The locking terminals work excellently.

22 Uses for Z mount
To be honest, besides the Astro usage, we've never thought it could benefit the slider users those much until we received the below reviews!
For low angle and macro usage, we've never thought it too.
Thank you for all your brilliant find out. It encourages us a lot.

Below is a quick review of the journey, we hope you enjoy:
On the 14th June 2020, MSM ambassador Alyn Wallace told us that he has an idea for a new star tracker platform to solve the following problems:
- When at latitudes close to the equator it becomes very difficult to use the ball head on top of a star tracker.
-It’s also difficult to do panoramas, regardless of latitude.
Adding a “Star Tracker Platform” so that the ball head becomes level. The angle can be adjusted and locked into place and the platform can also be rotated. The platform is a perfect match for the Move Shoot Move rotator but also works with any star tracker..
Later, we researched all the possible alternative solutions, practicing and using, finally came to the first version as below:
1st Version, mainly verifying the mechanism to lock the angled platform and also the rotating base.
2nd Version, Enlarged the center rotation section.
- Wrapped the rotating disc to prevent dust entering.
- Changed screw to handle.
Added more space for the bottom handle, so we can operate with gloves.
And Finally, the final 5th Version, with some minor improvements to launch the production.

Work as a tripod head
The V platform is for those who want to save weight. If you're already using a heavy setup you may not have much room to add weight on top of the MSM which has a payload of 3kg.
The Z platform has the added benefit of being able to be used to replace the ball head on a tripod when not using a star tracker at all. You can also use the Z platform as a table-top tripod. So it's an exchange of versatility for a little added weight.
