I found the set up and go, of this device brilliantly easy, from the laser pointer at Polaris to the light weight yet solid construction, I was up and photographing multiple exposures of the north American nebula, with a rokinnon 135 the same day it arrived, was really impressed it could handle the payload of a lens like that on a DSLR without a cumbersome counterweight. great piece of kit.
Great product with easy learning curve. I asked if order could be expedited. It was my fault I ordered close to the trip I needed it for. Shipping was upgraded to UPS and it arrived in time. Great customer service!!
The device is really well done, as the accessories. Quite easy to install. Hope to have some clear sky to be able to take some pics!
It is easy to use and compact. It actually need lots of accessories to be used to it's full potential but I like the molecularity (you can pick multiple polar alignment options, different wedges, etc). I was able to capture beautiful photos right from the first nigh and I'm glad I have it.
Although the shipment was very slow, the product is great!!!

Being new into astrophotography it’s taken some time to get used to the nuances and techniques to get good landscape astro shots. Ive learnt about maximum shutter speeds to not get trailing and stacking photos which have generated better photos for this definitely amateur photographer. All that opened up the topic of tracked images from posts on social media, youtube etc. Spent quite some time looking at options specifically those that weren’t too expensive and wouldn’t clutter the house up with big bits of kit. The MSM Nomad jumped to the head of the list quite early and I finally pulled the trigger on the purchase a couple of months ago, so as to not miss milky way season and to get ready for winter shots etc. Bought direct from MSM, price was great ( better than i could get with distributors) delivery was when it was promised. Now having used it it delivers what it ‘says on the box’: I found it easy to set up (i have the rotating base, wedge and V plate), alignment with the laser is a piece of cake and the tracking for what I do is spot on. Very happy with the output though I’m still learning! Highly recommend it.
NOMAD star tracker for Novice and Experienced Astrophotographers
A small but truly great device. Easy to carry with you at all times; simple functions, incredibly compact and lightweight. Perfect for those like me who travel often and don’t want to give up their passion for astrophotography, even while on the road. Highly recommended!
At first I thought it wasn't working because it didn't move, turns out it's just slower than you think. I set it up for a 10minute exposure and was amazed with results. You have to be on solid ground not your wooden deck and just let it do its thing. Definitely recommend with great customer service.
