Improved attachment points. The previous manufacturing tolerances were fine for Astro-landscape but deep-sky needs a firmer foundation.
The MSM Rotator, due to its design, required specific weight positioning to keep the ball head secure; this has been completely eliminated.
The laser now screws into the tracker eliminating any chance of wobble.
The industry standard quick-release plate on the bottom is secured in 2 places preventing any twisting of the tracker on its mount.
Improved load capacity.
The hardware has been built to withstand twice the amount of torque as the MSM Rotator.
Where the MSM Rotator was only designed for wide-angle Astro-landscape, the MOVE SHOOT MOVE NOMAD has been designed with wide-field deep-sky use in mind.
Availability of an optional counterweight system for more experienced users to go even deeper.
Simplified operation. By designing and building a device with a narrower focus we were able to make it better while keeping the size down.
One 3-position switch; Northern hemisphere, Southern, or Off.
In order to improve on our goals of ease of use and portability, the non-tracker function of the MSM Rotator has been left off, greatly simplifying the operation of the new tracker.
The MOVE SHOOT MOVE NOMAD is focused on one function, star tracking. (MOVE SHOOT MOVE NOMAD can be used to take timelapse of the night sky, but it does not have the so called Move Shoot Move timelapse mode of the previous Rotator)
Reduced size and weight. A foremost feature of our trackers is portability.
Our users take our trackers with them even when backpacking to some of the most remote areas of the world.
We worked to make storing and transporting the tracker even easier so you'll always want to have it with you when traveling.
The tracker is called MOVE SHOOT MOVE NOMAD for a reason; it is designed to travel with you wherever you go.
The Msm Nomad is an excellent tracker, very portable but powerful, I managed to take 30" exposures with a 135mm lens with sharp stars and the alignment effort was not huge. I'm sure with a better alignment I could have achieves 1 or even 2 minutes exposures. I'm extremely happy with the purchase, KUDOS! 😊
Love it. Works well, easy to line up and easy to carry.
I'm totally new to astro-photography. After several years taking some amateur "decent" shots of the Milky Way with my phone, I was disappointed that only short exposures could be used -and even at 10secs one could already see a slight signature of the trails of the stars. I wanted to explore the next level, and a colleague expert in astro-photography recommended the NOMAD tracker. As I was travelling to Patagonia, I wanted something light, portable, and easy to use, so I gave it a try. And in fact, I could take thrilling pictures of the Milky Way and the Magellanic Clouds using my phone on the NOMAD tracker. It is amazing how well it works, how easy it is to align (I also used my phone and astronomy apps to align it), and how reliable it is! It was definitely a game-changer for me. Now I really want to go for more serious photographic equipment and spend more time out there tracking the stars!
I have used the MSM Nomad a few times and I finaly got the pictures I wanted. Tracking is very good. I even tried 30s with 85mm lens and no star trails!
Easy to operate.
I am very satisfied!
I can absolutely recommend you. Everything is tip-top.
Easy and portable. Gives me another option for astrophotography when I don't feel like getting the heavy equipment out. I love it!
Thanks
Gary

I could not get over how easy (after watching a few fine videos), it was to set up. though I have much to learn about astrophotography, the NOMAD will be my entry point into a world that is "out of this world".
I had a really positive experience with my first purchase from Move-Shoot-Move. The NOMAD Astro Tracker arrived quickly. The components are robust and of good quality, and it was very easy to set up. I tried it out right away and achieved great results!
I am really very satisfied and can definitely recommend it!
Everything arrived, All fits together, Will test on the next clear night. Looks well built. That’s all I can say for now till I have used it. But thank you so far
