V or Z? Which Should You Choose?

Both V and Z platforms solve the issue of awkward ballhead angles on a star tracker.

V Platform: Lightweight solution, ideal if your setup is already heavy. Supports the MSM payload of 3.5 kg.
Z Platform: Slightly heavier but versatile. Can replace a ball head on a tripod, function as a tabletop tripod, and be used without a star tracker.

Move shoot move rotator

I was easier than I expected to get it mounted and working. I really love it . as an astro novice it is really satisfying to see the results. I have no problems using my phone to align . So much fun.

Excellent but there is room for improvement

I have alot of experience with astronomy mounts. I have multiple mounts for multiple payloads and the NOMAD is my favorite. Extremely portable and the battery life is just enough for a full night of imaging. I do recommend this product for a lightweight easy to setup star tracker.

Now my main issue which isn't a big deal... I'm used to polar alignment with a polar scope and I can do it fairly easily and quickly. The laser polar alignment is good enough but I don't mind wasting the extra brief minutes to do a proper polar alignment with the scope. The laser screws on to the body of the tracker ensuring a good fit a alignment to the body, however, and this is where my main problem lies, the polar tracker is attached using a small adapter, the polar scope is then fit inside this adapter and secured using a plastic screw which as it's tightened moves the scope inside the adapter. A proper polar scope should be fixed and as perpendicular as possible to the axis of rotation, this is no way to ensure a proper perpendicularity of the scope to the body of the tracker. To fix this issue I recommend changing the polar scope and it's mounting adapter so that the scope screws into this adapter, this way there is no need for a plastic screw that moves the polar scope sideways as it tightens.

Despite this the laser does a good job for a good enough alignment and I have this in my bag at all times. Excellent product despite there being room for improvement.

Great compact star tracker

I like the compactness of the tracker. I have an older traveler from a different company which was much more bulkerier, and had just 4 AA batteries. With the nad so much Easter to charge, and setup and start taking pictures.
