MSM Review

I am delighted with my MSM, it has been easy to setup and use and helped me move to a different level of astrophotography.
Many of the users I know in the Southern hemisphere use a 3d printed holder for a phone that clips onto the tracker. This allows them to polar align to Polaris and avoid complicated southern pole alignment, with excellent results.
I am also using one.
It would be nice to have this as part of the kit.

Super lightweight and portable

For anyone into Milky Way, nightscapes, or travel astrophotography, the MSM Nomad is an excellent lightweight tracker. It’s not meant for heavy deep-sky rigs, but as a grab-and-go tool for wide-field starscapes it really shines.

Tatti Nomad Atsro Kit

MSM’s service has been great - and the Richard Tatti “dual” hemisphere kit is everything I’d heard it would be - easy to work with, light to pack but strong and stable on the stand - and the star tracking has been spot on. Two items for the kit were not readily in stock, but MSM sent the core components straight away and kept me up to date with the arrival of the remaining items. All around a very positive experience.WD

Unexpectedly simple

It took a while to assemble the components - mainly because I was overthinking the process. After I had returned from a test shoot on the core of the Milky Way I realised how simple it had been. My biggest headache was polar aligning in the Southern Hemisphere - once again I over thought the process. Success with PhotoPills. So easy when I had the concept in my head.

Since using it the noticeable difference in even phone photo quality is great, well worth it.

Excellent service

I was not happy with the 360 rotator seemed as it did not lock properly and would rotate 10 degrees or so. I informed MSM and they dealt with the issue efficiently and quickly and the replacement works fine and I am happy with it.

Excellent kit

Received the Southern hemisphere kit about a week after ordering. The V plate shipped separately. Very easy initial set up. It’s important to remember to tighten the small hex set screw in the ball head mount on the tracker otherwise the ball head comes loose ( ask me how I know). First results very impressive. Easy to align using a phone and unit tracks well. Pinpoint stars with a one minute exposure on a 20mm lens.
