Improved attachment points. The previous manufacturing tolerances were fine for Astro-landscape but deep-sky needs a firmer foundation.
The MSM Rotator, due to its design, required specific weight positioning to keep the ball head secure; this has been completely eliminated. Â
The laser now screws into the tracker eliminating any chance of wobble. Â
The industry standard quick-release plate on the bottom is secured in 2 places preventing any twisting of the tracker on its mount. Â
Improved load capacity. Â
The hardware has been built to withstand twice the amount of torque as the MSM Rotator.Â
Where the MSM Rotator was only designed for wide-angle Astro-landscape, the MOVE SHOOT MOVE NOMAD has been designed with wide-field deep-sky use in mind. Â
Availability of an optional counterweight system for more experienced users to go even deeper.
Simplified operation. By designing and building a device with a narrower focus we were able to make it better while keeping the size down.
One 3-position switch; Northern hemisphere, Southern, or Off. Â
In order to improve on our goals of ease of use and portability, the non-tracker function of the MSM Rotator has been left off, greatly simplifying the operation of the new tracker. Â
The MOVE SHOOT MOVE NOMAD is focused on one function, star tracking.  (MOVE SHOOT MOVE NOMAD can be used to take timelapse of the night sky, but it does not have the so called Move Shoot Move timelapse mode of the previous Rotator)Â
Reduced size and weight.  A foremost feature of our trackers is portability.Â
Our users take our trackers with them even when backpacking to some of the most remote areas of the world.Â
We worked to make storing and transporting the tracker even easier so you'll always want to have it with you when traveling.
The tracker is called MOVE SHOOT MOVE NOMAD for a reason; it is designed to travel with you wherever you go. Â
Iâve had the MSM Nomad for a few months now, and have slowly been building up my kit to improve the experience (strong recommend the Z mount and polar scope phone adapter!). Even for a beginner like me itâs been simple to use once set up (highly recommend watching a few Youtube tutorials and setting up prior to going out!) and has produced some great results.
I have also had a great experience with their customer service- I ordered the wrong piece for the phone mount, and was expecting to have a lengthy email chain and weeks waiting between return shipping and receiving the new item. But they knew instantly the mistake Iâd made and offered to just replace the part I had gotten wrong. A+++ customer service and a great product as well!
This is my first tracker and it was very easy to set up and operate. Furthermore, the size and form factor of the NOMAD makes it very easy to transport.

While I haven't had the opportunity to set up and use my new Move Shoot Move Nomad yet, I am giving a 5 star rating for the great deal I got on my purchase and for how quickly my Nomad came. I am new to the idea of using a star tracker and since I will be attending a night photography conference in May, this seemed like an affordable piece of equipment for me to utilize. Will be trying to get things set up and start learning how to use very soon. Had heard the Nomad is great for beginners!
Nomad tracker is fantastic tracker. Minimal setup and compact. Easy to use and lots of support online from the user group.
I'm a hobby photographer who started doing astrophotography for the first time in an environment with a lot of light pollution. I took a few test shots of stars that were perfect, but then the weather was bad for weeks. It was very easy to setup. The photos were crisp and sharp. In a month and a half, I'm going to a dark environment specifically to use the MSM. I'm very curious to see what that will be like. Our next vacation will also be to a dark zone!
I have the phone alignment, but I have to sit on the ground to see what I'm doing. That could be more convenient. Laser isn't an option because there's a lot of air traffic.
Looking forward to a lot of milkyway and star photos

MSM was easy to order from and our purchase arrived on time
As a professional shooting nightscapes for many years now this was my first time trying out a tracker. I have to say I found polar alignment to be a breeze and I was shooting two three minute exposures in no time at all. Highly recommended.
