NOMADベーシックキットプラス マイク・パチにインスパイア

A few months ago I ordered my first star tracker, the MSM Nomad (obviously, LOL). I watched all the videos I could before getting out in the field. But then, the weather happened, and happened, and happened. After two months of horrid conditions, I finally had a clear night during a new moon phase.

After setting everything up, which wasn't hard to do, I was ready to align to the celestial north pole. Instead of using the laser or the poloar scope, I used the PS Align Pro app, along with the MSM phone mount, to align the tracker. And wow!

First capture was 60 seconds, and the stars were crisp. I then tried 120 seconds. Again, super-sharp stars. The MSM Nomad worked perfectfly. I am beyond impressed. I used the Nomad with my new Canon RF 20MM f/1.4 lens -- what a great combination.

I needed something more portable than other available rotators. With appropriate set-up I’ve been able to track effectively even at longer focal lengths and with longer exposures. That was a wonderful surprise as I sometimes shoot more than just Milky Way landscapes. Very happy with my purchase.

Solid built and yet very portable. Got it set up on my existing tripod, polar aligned on Polaris, and then my existing tripod head attached between it and the camera. Immediately got the Orion Nebula at 300mm with no star trails! These are single shots with no stacking. Some light post processing in Lightroom. There are better ways to photo the nebula, but this was my initial test to see how well I could set it all up and get no trails. Easy, I passed with flying colors! I will go for Milky Way photos next.

Inspired by me, this simple kit is perfect for when I need to hike to a location to photograph the night sky. It's compact and lightweight and easily fits into my backpack.
