NOMAD Vixen ドブテイルプレートベース＆高いArca-Swissプレートベース＆Cベース（ストップネジ付き）

I am looking forward to setting up and seeing how well the Nomad works on the night skies! I purchased a Neewer geared-head model TH16 and have run into problems with incompatibility with the Arca style plate on the Nomad. The plate on the Nomad has a steeper and deeper angle and the clamp on the Neewer head does not fully engage the plate, making it slide back and forth.

I have included a picture to show the plate on the Nomad in comparison to the angle and bottom thickness of a plate which came with the Neewer head. I screwed the plate on the bottom of the Nomad, thinking this might work...but there is no way to securely lock them together. The picture is shown with the Neewer plate mounted on the bottom of the Nomad plate. Some rotation might occur. Note, I added a small strip of gaffers tape on both sides of the Nomad plate (as seen in the photo) which temporarily works to hold the Nomad securely in the Neewer clamp. I won't use the Neewer plate.

At first I did not realize MSM offered this accessory vixen bar option. But I was delighted to learn about it, because I use it directly with my William Optics Latitude base for a very stable mount! Works great and the NOMAD even fits in the protective case when attached to this accessory bar.

I needed this plate to give me a bit more clearance for my Nomad tracker to the pan/ tilt mount I prefer to use. It worked perfectly for my needs and I am glad MSM.offers it.

Realmente no le doy las cinco estrellas porque debería haber una opción para elegir a la hora de la compra si se quiere con base Vixen o base Arca Swiss, lo que ahorraría el doble gasto que se produce al adquirir el NOMAD que se envía con Arca Swiss pero ya tienes una base tipo Vixen.

I'm not really giving it five stars because there should be an option to choose between a Vixen or Arca Swiss base when purchasing, which would save you from having to spend twice when buying the NOMAD, which comes with Arca Swiss but you already have a Vixen-type base.

This package makes it so easy to get things going in the southern hemisphere. Thoroughly recommend considering this easy no fuss option.

It only took me a couple of minutes to replace the arca swiss base with the Vixen dovetail plate base. Excel·lent product!

Well made and the right height that I needed and works good .

I wanted to pair my MSM Nomad with my Benro gear head mount on my tripod and it works perfectly. I’ve used the Nomad three times and got extremely good results. I also have a WO high latitude Vixen Style Base Mount and I can use the Nomad with that too! I’m so glad I’ve been a fan of Richard Tatti’s Nightscape Images on YouTube as his review of Nomad is what swayed me to purchase in the first place. He also mentioned the Vixen Dovetail Plate Base & Tall Atca-Swiss Plate Base as options.

I was so glad when I found out that MSM had made this fitting available for the Nomad. The arca Swiss plate was great, low profile and well made but it made aligning the Nomad difficult with the multi directional ball head idea. It of course would have been fine on the MSM wedge base which has that fitting but I already had two vixen wedges and didn’t want to have to buy another one. This good value plate has fixed my problem, thank you MSM.
