Honestly, I regret not getting one when I first bought my Nomad because it's a game changer for a quicker and more accurate polar alignment. If you're considering buying a Nomad (which you should), make sure to get this viewfinder too and save your back a lot of pain.

Sauf à avoir un trépied très très haut, la position pour viser l'étoile polaire avec la lunette est très inconfortable et impossible à tenir longtemps. Celà rend la visée difficile, douloureuse et longue. Ce renvoi d'angle change tout ! On peut viser dans la lunette beaucoup plus facilement et rapidement, sans aucun inconfort.

I've been using my Skyguider Pro star tracker for a while. I hated the alignment process as it's difficult for me to bend over to get Polaris positioned just right in the reticle. I recently saw the Right Angle Viewfinder online and decided to give it a try. This has made it far more pleasant for me to do that alignment as I can now do it standing. I'm now getting 4+ minute exposures with my camera and lens, and with much better result! I absolutely love the right angle viewfinder for the polarscope. I use it on both the Nomad and on the SkyWatcher StarAdventurer 2i. One issue I found with this was the plastic adapter that attaches it to a polarscope. I broke two of them (both where the viewfinder attaches to the adapter) after accidentally dropping the backsaver on the ground on two different occasions. Only then did I find the metal version of the adapter on the website. Get the metal version of the adapter. It is worth every penny.

Though I am still waiting for some clear skies, to really test this out... I have tested it and all I can say is, I totally recommend this to anyone, with a polarscope, where they need to get on their knees, crouch at a weird angle, trying see what is sometimes a badly illuminated reticle... This takes all that back/neck pain away, and you can now comfortably see through the polarscope, no matter how tall you might be...Excellent, and fits my Star Adventurer polarscope perfectly.

Best used with the laser and attachment to the SWSA, then it is very easy to tell which star is Polaris, and saves frustrating back discomfort. It does take a little getting used to AND finding the proper focus. But, once dialed in, polar alignment is very easy and efficient. Highly recommend using the two pieces together. Also, the right angle device comes with a lot of adapters to use with your DSLR viewfinder / Mirrorless EVF.

The right angle viewer and nylon connecter is a long overdue product with multiple advantages. First, it saves the user from having to stoop to look through the polarscope during celestial alighment. Second, the height of the tripod can be lowered since the user is now looking down into the polorscope. This helps to further stabilize the tripod against wind. The viewer is a nice addition to the MSM package.

I’ve been using the MSM with moderate success, but needed to request a replacement after the unit I first received failed to track in the N orientation. I documented the issue and submitted a claim, and MSM replaced the unit. Unfortunately, the first unit purchased in time for a trip to the pacific islands and didn’t perform for me but the replacement I received operates (so far) as expected (I ran similar tests on the replacement and found it tracked as expected (see image) in both S and N directions.). But it’s now ‘out of season’ for Northern Hemisphere core MW shooting. I’ll look forward to it operating magnificently next spring, and if I can find the time for a random star tracking before then, I’m hopeful the replacement will perform well and as expected.

I try to keep my tripod and tracker close to the ground, that makes polar alignment a real pain. I’m bent over or lying on the ground. I tried the right angle finder along with the laser holder on my Skywatcher Adventure, it made alignment a breeze.

The Right Angle Viewfinder it's the best friend of my neck. Now I achieve to easily put on station with high precission my msm on a record time, having more than 4 minutes exposures on a 35mm lens. I bought a second unit cause I realized you can also use as a viewfinder for the camera. Now, no matter what part of the sky I'm capturing, I stand comfortable in front of the equipement. The 2x magnifier helps a lot when you have to put the polar star in the correct point and, as a viewfinder for the camera, when you need to focus the lens to the stars.

The right-angle finder is a great addition to the MSM system. It makes it much more convenient to use the polar scope, and not hurt your back.

Brilliant bit of kit that makes setting up my star tracker so much easier. The plastic adapter broke easily but the metal one I got to replace it is much better.

Very useful little accessory. It makes polar alignment with the iOptron SkyGuider Pro much more comfortable, especially when the polar scope is in an awkward position. No more kneeling or twisting your neck to look through the scope. Simple, practical and does exactly what I needed.

Firstly their star tracker is an amazing product. In addition their customer service support was just as good. They responded to my inquiries quickly and resolved my issues. Well done.

I enjoy all your other products except for the wedge this product is just about worthless when you’re out in the middle of the night trying to set up. You waste a lot of time and often have to reset it because it’s slightly moves. I do not recommend this product as far as nomad can’t speak more highly of it.

Really handy for precision polar alignment without having to kneel on the ground or wet grass. Makes the whole chore a lot easier and more comfortable.

Ich hab mir, ehrlichgesagt, nicht viel von der Qualität dieses Winkelsuchers erwartet. Aber schon durch das Gewicht der Sendung, als das Päckchen bei mir ankam, war ich überrascht. Und dann, nachdem ich alles ausgepackt hatte, waren meine Zweifel, ob ich da wohl Geld zum Fenster rausgeschmissen hätte, beseitigt.
Alle Teile fühlen sich hochwertig an. Definitiv kein billiger China-Plastikkram.
Der Winkelsucher passt perfekt auf meinen Skywatcher StarAdventurer. Und er verfügt sogar über einen Schiebeschalter, mit dem noch eine Vergrößerung des Sichtfeldes bewirkt wird.
Ja, es klappt wie erhofft - ich kann jetzt bequem meine Montierung auf den Polarstern ausrichten, ohne ein 2,50 m Stativ zu benötigen, mir den Rücken und Hals zu verrenken, oder mich in den Dreck knieen zu müssen. Der Winkelsucher von Move-Shoot-Move hat meine Erwartungen mehr als erfüllt! Und das zu einem guten Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis.

Und absolut begeistert bin ich von meinem neuen Laserpointer! Mit dem Adapter ist er ruck-zuck am Star-Adventurer befestigt und in sekundenschnelle ist die gesamte Montierung auf Polaris gut vorausgerichtet. Dann den Laser abnehmen, den Winkelsucher aufschrauben und wiederum in wenigen Augenblicken ist die Montierung eingenordet.

Mit diesen beiden Artikeln ist das Einnorden der Montierung wirklich keine große Sache mehr! Jetzt bräuchte es nur noch ein paar sternklare Nächte am Wochenende, um mich an meinen neuen Helferlein weiter erfreuen zu können.

I ordered a Right Angle Viewfinder for Polarscope. The first one arrived broken, but customer service was very responsive and immediately replaced the product—thank you for that. A new one arrived and seems to work well. Due to bad weather, I haven’t been able to test it in the field yet, but the daytime tests already fully meet my expectations. I have no doubt that everything will go smoothly on my next outing!

El mío todavía no lo he usado pero lo conozco porque lo tiene un compañero y la verdad que es muy cómodo para las rodillas cuello espalda y si el suelo está mojado ni que decir creo que es una buena inversión y lo del puntero laser también buena inversión ya que el mío solo funciona tendiendo pulsado y es engorroso estar pulsando el laser y moviendo la montura a la vez lo siguiente la zapata niveladora.

I found right angle adapter great, optics good, but the plastic 3d version was a bit too snug. Definitely a tolerence issue! Plus when the thumbscrews came loose the unit fell and the plastic adapter broke at the slots.
